Asian restaurant on the University of Pennsylvania campus.
Design derived from retro Tokyo, featuring all gloss white walls, multi colored lighting and the first motorized sushi conveyor in the US.
The bar is made from translucent amber resin with a concrete bar dye, and partitions separating dining areas are silicone tubing. The restaurant also features custom made 'pod' dining chairs crafted from molded fiberglass.
The design received a 2001 Lumen Award and was a finalist for the James Beard Prize, 2001.
Design by Sam Trimble in collaboration with the Rockwell group.
